Hardware configuration
The central element of the architecture is an industrial PC (IPC), on which two independent, yet closely cooperating systems are run in parallel:
- ROBOTstar control system: A standalone system that precisely calculates and executes all robot movements as well as complex path and motion sequences.
- Integrated Siemens PLC: A fully usable control unit for regulating the entire system and all associated peripheral components, which operates in coordination with the ROBOTstar control but can also function independently. The drive technology is controlled directly via the Siemens S120 inverter system.
The benefits for you: By consolidating everything into a single device, there is no need for the conventional cabling required between separate control units. You benefit from a compact, integrated control system.
Software and Security
We have been continuously developing our software since 1983. The current generation is designed to deliver maximum performance in robot guidance.
- Division of responsibilities : Whilst the ROBOTstar optimises the robot’s dynamics, the integrated Siemens PLC handles the overall system control as well as the comprehensive safety of the robot and the system.
- Certified security : The safety control system has been approved by Siemens. It covers all relevant aspects – from emergency stop and enable buttons to Cartesian safety (monitoring of the work area).
